The Friends of Milford Skate Park (FoMSP) is kicking off their 2006 fundraising efforts on Saturday April 29th! An all-day, all-ages open skate day will be held in Downtown Milford, in Central Park’s upper parking lot from 10am to 4pm. Entrance fee is only $5 for all day access! All participants are required to complete a waiver. Riders under 18 need parent’s signature. Waivers are available for download at www.skatemilford.com – if you are bringing a downloaded waiver, it MUST be notarized. Helmets required for ALL skaters.
This is an open skate event that will feature several mini-competitions throughout the day for those interested. Examples of previous mini-competitions include longest manual, highest ollie, and best trick on a specific park component. All prizes for competitions are donated by Aura Boardsports.
A 50/50 raffle will be held during the competition as well as the sale of Friends of Milford Skate Park merchandise which includes T-shirts, Hoodies and bumper stickers. Pizza and refreshments will be available for purchase. All proceeds from this fundraiser are to benefit the FoMSP.
The Friends of Milford Skate Park (FoMSP) is a non-profit/501(c)(3) citizen’s organization, working in partnership with the Village of Milford and the Milford Township Parks and Recreation Committee, to create a permanent world-class FREE skatepark for the skateboarders in Milford. We see the need for a safe and legal place for all of these extremely talented skateboarders in our area to ride.
Friends of Milford Skate Park representatives will be on hand to raise awareness and recruit community members to take part in our fundraising efforts. The FoMSP meets the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month at 7pm - South Hill Church in Milford.
