The Perfect Bar

I always sit behind the bar and listen to people converse about what they would do if they owned their own bar. They love to wax poetic about how “all the regulars would drink for free”. “Last Call” would be a thing of the past, there would always be “free popcorn and pretzels on the tables”, “Doubles” would now be the norm. This is all fine and dandy in some dream world.

Bartending as a career choice

I've had a few different jobs in my career, but by far the Bartending is my destiny. I couldn't stand it when I was stuck behind a desk the whole day long; I can't stand to sit still for that long. Working on a ladder all day just wasn't my cup of tea, (the paint fumes weren't good for the brain) and sitting on a machine moving dirt was something I enjoyed a lot, but the smell of diesel fuel and waking up at 5am was something I can live without. I guess I enjoy going to bed at this time rather than waking up.

Dive Bars

Seems everyone always wants to go to the newest and hottest clubs in town, but what ever happened to the good ol' dive bars? Why is it that we always have to go to the newest or biggest place to have fun? Have we forgotten about the little Mom & Pop's place down on the corner, one of my favorite things to do is take the wife out on the town fora good dive bar pub crawl (believe me, she loves it).
